Concrete Foundation Options, Dimensions & Diagonal Leveling

Before the delivery truck arrives, the ground must be compacted and leveled using one of the three concrete support methods below. Never place a container directly on soil, gravel, wooden blocks, or un-leveled ground.

OPTION A · STRIP BEAM FOUNDATION

Parallel Concrete Strip Beams

700 cm 300 cm 180 cm 180 cm 180 cm 40 cm 4 × (300×40×25 cm) SERCONTAINER · CAD-A

For a standard 300 × 700 cm container: cast 4 parallel reinforced concrete beams (300 cm length × 40 cm width × 25 cm height) with 180 cm clear spacing along the 700 cm axis.

OPTION B · CONCRETE PIER PADS

Point Concrete Pier / Pad Blocks

700 cm 300 cm 8 × PIER PADS 40 × 40 × H:25 cm 180 cm 180 cm 180 cm 8 × (40×40×25 cm) SERCONTAINER · CAD-B

For a standard 300 × 700 cm container: cast 8 concrete pier pads (2 rows × 4 pads), each 40 × 40 cm footprint × 25 cm height, with 180 cm clear intervals so corner and intermediate cross-beams bear evenly.

OPTION C · FULL SLAB & X-AXIS LEVELING

Diagonal Level Check & Full Slab Option

L1 = L2 · LEVEL ±0.0 mm C25/30 · Min. H:15–25 cm SERCONTAINER · CAD-C

Alternatively, cast a full steel-mesh reinforced slab (min. 15 cm thick). All beams/piers must be checked along both main axes and diagonal X-axes (L1 = L2, ±0 mm) prior to unloading.

IMPORTANT ENGINEERING NOTE: The foundation dimensions above apply to single standalone containers. For joined/coupled container complexes or multi-storey installations, request a dedicated project foundation plan from SerContainer engineering during ordering. Door/window racking and water pooling caused by un-leveled ground are excluded from warranty.

PHASE 02 · CRANE UNLOADING & GROUND PLACEMENT

4-Point Crane Rigging (Ø 35 mm Lugs) & Symmetric Chassis Seating

Unloading from the truck and seating onto concrete supports must be performed exclusively by a certified crane operator using rated 4-leg slings.

1. Crane Slings & Ø 35 mm Inside-Out Hook Rule

Steel Wire Rope Sling Webbing Belt Sling Alloy Chain Sling
  • Connect a certified 4-leg sling (min. 60° top angle) to all 4 upper corner lifting lugs (eye diameter Ø 35 mm). Never lift from 2 points or use forklifts under thin floor panels.
  • CRITICAL HOOK DIRECTION: Always insert rated safety-latch hooks from the INSIDE of the corner lug facing OUTWARD (safety latch facing out), or use rated screw-pin U-shackles.
  • Never use uncertified hooks, rebar hooks, knotted ropes, or hooks missing a functional safety latch.
  • Crane lifting, rigging, and signaling must be executed solely by licensed operators while keeping personnel clear of the suspended load.

2. Symmetric Seating on Concrete Supports & Utility Hookup

1. TOP-DOWN SYMMETRIC CHASSIS SEATING 2. SIDE ELEVATION & MOISTURE CLEARANCE (H = 25 cm) SERCONTAINER STEEL CHASSIS + 14 mm BETOPAN FLOOR 25 cm
±0 mm X-Axis Level H: 25 cm Moisture Gap C25/30 Concrete
  • Center the container steel bottom chassis symmetrically over all 8 concrete pier pads or 4 strip beams so all 4 corner posts and intermediate cross-members bear evenly without overhang.
  • The 25 cm concrete elevation protects the bottom chassis from ground moisture, mud splash, and surface rainwater.
  • After seating, verify smooth door and window latch operation on all sides; shim with steel plates if minor site settlement exists.
  • External electrical mains (earth grounding rod required), clean water supply, and sewage waste connections must be completed by qualified technicians.
PHASE 03 · OPERATING LIMITS & WARRANTY PROTECTION

Mandatory Do’s & Don’ts: Wrong vs. Right Field Applications

Structural damage, roof leaks, or panel deformation caused by violating the operating rules below will void product warranty coverage.

1. Water Storage Tanks (Zero Roof Point Load)

✕ WRONG H₂O ✓ CORRECT H₂O
✕ WRONG: Never place plastic or steel water tanks on top of the container roof. Concentrated water weight crushes roof sheets and causes leaks.
✓ CORRECT: Always install water tanks outside the container on an independent structural steel tower or concrete platform.

2. Split A/C Outdoor Unit Mounting

✕ WRONG ✓ CORRECT
✕ WRONG: Never place A/C outdoor compressors on the roof or hang brackets directly onto 50 mm insulated wall sandwich panels (causes vibration & panel buckling).
✓ CORRECT: Mount the A/C outdoor unit on a ground concrete pad next to the unit or on a bracket welded/bolted directly to the bottom steel chassis.

3. Roof Maintenance Access & Satellite Dishes

✕ WRONG ✓ CORRECT
✕ WRONG: Never walk directly on trapezoidal roof sheets, drill unsealed holes in the roof, or mount antennas protruding above the roof ridge.
✓ CORRECT: Erect side scaffolding for external maintenance, and clamp satellite/telecom brackets to side corner steel posts without exceeding the roof line.

4. 200 kg/m² Floor Limit, Empty Lifting & Serial Plate

✕ WRONG > 200 kg/m² · LOADED LIFT ✕ ✓ CORRECT SERCONTAINER ID ≤ 200 kg/m² MAX FLOOR EMPTY LIFT + SERIAL PLATE ✓
✕ WRONG: Never exceed 200 kg/m² interior floor load, and NEVER crane-lift or relocate a container while furniture, equipment, or cargo is inside.
✓ CORRECT: Empty the container completely before any crane relocation, respect the 200 kg/m² distributed load limit, and never remove the SerContainer serial warranty plate.

Frequently Asked Technical & Export Questions

What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ) for container frame kits and can we mix different models?

For 3×7 m container frame kits, the minimum order is 10 sets. For all other frame dimensions, the minimum order is 20 sets. Mixed orders are accepted: you can combine different dimensions, roof types (Flat Roof and Gable A-Roof), and surface finishes (Painted and Galvanized).

Is there a minimum order requirement for ready modular containers (SC-K, SC-MK, SC-GK, SC-IK)?

No. Ready modular containers (accommodation units, site offices, security cabins, and WC/shower sanitary containers) can be ordered starting from 1 unit up to multi-unit construction camp packages.

How many container frame kits or ready containers fit into a 13.6m Truck (TIR) or 40' HC Sea Container?

For bolt-together demountable frame kits (such as 2.4×6 m or 3×7 m), a single 13.6m flatbed/curtain-side truck or 40' HC container holds approximately 20 to 28 sets depending on total weight and roof geometry. For factory-assembled 3×7 m ready containers, 1 truck carries 2 monoblock units (or 4–6 compact guard/sanitary cabins); for multi-unit export projects shipped in flat-pack configuration, 1 truck or 40' HC carries 6 to 10 units.

What is the difference between Flat Roof and Gable (A) Roof frame kits?

Flat Roof frame kits have a 2,600 mm external height and standard chassis/roof purlin structure. Gable (A) Roof frame kits feature 2,500 mm vertical side walls and dual-pitched steel roof trusses reaching a 2,850 mm ridge height, designed for rapid rainwater/snow runoff and residential aesthetics.

Do you offer Rockwool or PIR insulation and A/C preparation for Middle East & Gulf projects?

Yes. While our standard ready containers feature EPS insulated wall panels, you can select the "Hot Climate & Camp Option" in our quote calculator to upgrade to fire-rated Rockwool or high-density PIR panels, reinforced roof insulation, and pre-wired split A/C provisions for Iraq, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, and North Africa projects.

What is included in a container frame kit and what is excluded?

Each frame kit includes the bottom chassis perimeter beams, top roof perimeter frame, intermediate floor/roof purlins, 4 or 6 load-bearing corner columns, gable roof trusses/ridge beams (on A-roof models), lifting lugs, and the complete bolt/nut/washer fastener set. Wall panels, roof cladding sheets, floor boards, doors, windows, and site assembly are excluded from the frame-only kit.
